Young & reckless
Ruud and Vijay meet each other in high school. Just two boys from the same class. They immediately click — and that really never changed.
Festivals, friends & bachelor parties
The years that follow: festivals, bachelor parties, nights out. They work out in between, but social life takes center stage. Just like it goes when you're twenty. Nothing to worry about.
Entrepreneurship together
Driven by a passion for entrepreneurship, they start a sustainable brand. Long days, networking events, pitches, an office, and also employees. They notice that they work well together — but also that the entrepreneurial life takes its toll.
The toll is increasing
Approaching thirty, it starts to show. A night out suddenly requires two days of recovery. Vijay gets his blood tested — his liver values are elevated. Ruud notices that after a night out, he just spends a day on the couch. The same night as always. But it feels different.
The conversation that changed everything
In Athens, they really talk about it for the first time. They recognize each other's stories. They had already started something together before — so the step to do something with it together is quickly taken. They dive into the market. What they find: many beautiful packages, few active ingredients. They decide to formulate it themselves.
Vijay notices the difference
Vijay's liver values are going down. He now regularly goes to the gym and has more energy than he has had in years. Not spectacular — just noticeably better.
Ruud takes the step
Ruud is running the Rotterdam Marathon. A year later, he is at the start of the Ironman 70.3 in Valencia — 113 kilometers of swimming, cycling, and running. A few years earlier, he never would have seen himself doing this.
Still social. Now also healthy.
They still have drinks. They still go to parties and weddings. But the next morning, they just feel good. Friends noticed it. Asked about it. Tried it. Both people their own age and older. At some point, it became clear: there is a serious demand for this. That’s how Livera was born.
